I recently upgraded to 2.0.3 of this plugin and all my meta tags vanished from the source code.

I re-enabled another plugin to compensate until this problem can be resolved.

  2. Hi Tim,

Please reactivate the latest copy of All in One SEO Pack and provide a link to a page or post where the meta tags are not being displayed. Also please let me know if you have any caching or performance plugins installed.

and no i do not have any caching plugins installed. not entirely sure what you mean by performance plugins but im pretty sure i dont have any o fthose either

  5. Hi Tim,

The first thing I'd say is you should deactivate the WordPress SEO plugin as this can cause conflicts and we can't help you while that plugin is running.

What do you have set for Front Page Displays in Settings, Reading? Is it set to a static page or is it set to display your latest posts? Next check under All in One SEO, General Settings, Home Description and tell me what you have entered there and if you have anything entered in the Home Keywords box.

Ok As i said before, i have WordPress SEO enabled BECAUSE all in one broke.
It cannot possibly be causing the issue because before All In One broke, WordPress SEO was DEACTIVATED.

It is set to static page. This is a custom built child theme of twenty ten.
    33.
there is nothing in the boxes in the general settings>hope page settings in All In One SEO because the homepage is a static page, not recent posts.

The TItle/Description/Keywords are entered in the boxes on the specific page (which has always been the proper and only functioning way of entering them for this site regardless of what seo plugin i am using) and are as follows:

TITLE: Detroit Video Production, Video Production Detroit | 248.238.8804

DESCRIPTION: Detroit Video Production Company, Video Crews, and Video Production in Detroit. Get video production services in detroit and Michigans top film and video production crew.

KEYWORDS: Video Production Services Detroit,Detroit Video Production,Video Crews,Detroit video company,Media Production Detroit, video production Michigan, Michigan video production.

the 33 was a typo. plz disregard

  8. Hi Tim,

I understand you don't want to deactivate the WordPress SEO plugin but we can't troubleshoot this unless you do because we know that the WordPress SEO plugin can override some of what All in One SEO Pack does so if it's activated on a site we can't see what All in One SEO Pack is outputting.

All in One SEO Pack has never used the Meta Title and Meta Description from the home page, it has always used the text entered in the Home Title, Home Description and Home Keywords fields under General Settings. This has been the case sing version 1.0 and has never ever changed. If the Home Title field is empty then All in One SEO Pack will default to the Site Title which you enter under Settings, General in WordPress. If you don't enter anything in the Home Description and Home Keywords fields then All in One will not output any meta description or meta keywords for the home page.

I have deactivated WordPress SEO for you.

as far as all in one not using meta title/description, etc - did you miss the fact that it is a static page?
this means it is just like any other page in a wordpress site, which means it has the title/description, etc at the bottom of the page.

This is what i have been using. it was working perfectly fine until i upgraded to 2.0.3.

I am not trying to be rude but there seems to be alot of miscommunication happening

  11. Hi Tim,

Yes I saw that you stated you are using a static page for your homepage. All in One SEO Pack has always since we first released the plugin six years ago only used the text entered in the Home Title, Home Description and Home Keywords fields for the homepage meta tags. This is the case regardless of whether you have a static page or you have the latest posts displayed.

The reason no meta description and meta keywords are showing on your homepage is because those fields are empty. If you enter some text in those fields you will see that output to the source code of your homepage.

Then why did it work initially but stopped after the update?

  13. Hi Tim,

I cannot answer that for you. All I can tell you is that this is the way All in One SEO Pack has done it for six years and we have not changed that code in version 2.0.3.
