I upgraded one of my blogs from 3.0 to 3.0.1 and got the following message:

Fatal error: Call to undefined function get_option() in /home/username/public_html/wp-admin/admin.php on line 22

  • Is it a Plugin problem, deactivate Plugins etc. see if it fixes the problem. Then reactivate one by one.

    Thank you for your reply.

I can’t get into my admin backend to do that so is there a way to deactivate plugins without deleting them from the folder? Will renaming them be sufficient or not?

rename /plugins folder – this will deactivate all of them
    rename it back to test

I renamed it, now it says line 14. I renamed it back and still line 14.

Try downloading WordPress again and delete then replace your copies of everything except the wp-config.php file and the /wp-content/ directory with fresh copies from the download.
