upgraded and lost site completely

  • I had someone set this up for me so it makes no sense to me at all. I clicked update and the entire page went to error. Then I couldn’t even log in so I had to reregister.
    page says

fatal error: call to a member function add_rewrite_tag() on a non-object in /home/content/l/a/u/laurenraquel/html/metcouture/wp-includes/taxonomy.php on line 289

    Can anyone help?

    Try:
    – switching to the Twenty Ten theme by renaming your current theme’s folder in wp-content/themes using FTP or whatever file management application your host provides. You may need to access /wp-login.php to get this to kick in fully.

resetting the plugins folder by FTP or phpMyAdmin.

    – re-running the upgrade manually using /wp-admin/upgrade.php.

That error after upgrade is caused by the Podcasting Plugin by TSG. Reset your plugins, don’t reactivate it, and find an alternative plugin.
