 * Upgrading to WordPress seems complicated. So scary. Need to read so many stuff.
Is there anything easier? Like image or video illustration?
    Any help? Anywhere?

 * Here is a quick and dirty video example I put together: [http://www.axifile.com/?9460158](http://www.axifile.com/?9460158)
 * The video quality isn’t too great, but you can understand whats going on.

 * it would be nice if ppl were reminded (over and over again) that they do NOT
   have to upgrade.
 * >>>>>> 2.0.x is going to be supported. <<<<<<
 * “What’s really exciting for me is what’s coming in the future. First of all,
the 2.0 series was an unparalleled success, with over 1.8 million downloads,
and thanks to the work of Mark Jaquith we’re committing to maintaining stable
security and bug fixes on the 2.0 branch until 2010.”
 * This ought to be drilled into the heads of ppl .. especially after what I see
on the forums from ppl that HAVE upgraded.
 * Did anyone think to include that more prominantly on the fricken blog page, or
didnt that seem important enough. Wouldnt want to have the forums flooded with
ppl that HAD working blogs yesterday now would ya?

 * Actually, anyone going with an older version, specifically pre 2.0.7, is at risk.
Several of the releases between 2.0 and 2.1 were security patches. If you are
still using anything less than 2.0.7, you are at risk. It is highly recommended
to upgrade to at least that.

 * Lorelle, you apparantly missed the context of the “gripe” I am NOT talking about
upgrading to 2.0.7 Nor did I copy and paste out of the 2.0.7 blog post. I am
specifically adressing the upgrade to 2.1
 * Xander, With all due respect, yesterday there were a lot of happy bloggers, today
there are alot of unhappy bloggers. Why? because theyre trying to figure out
why their blogs dont work? And guess what, im guessing a fair amount of them
upgraded to 2.1 without realizing they DIDNT need to.
 * I am NOT being testy. MY blog works. I just feel sorry for all the ppl that have
upgraded and are now having problems and didnt need to. And I really doubt that
anyone of **them (that are sitting here wondering why this, that, or the other
doesnt work)** would call me needlessly testy.

 * I’m glad you wrote this. It appears that everyone should upgrade to 2.1 now because
it’s available. I love the sound of all the cool new additions in 2.1 but I am
looking at all the posts and the issues and feeling certain that I’d end up with
one or more and that there’s no way I’m upgrading just yet. I’m just summoning
up the bottle to upgrade to 2.07!

 * whooami, your TONE of VOICE is very STRESSED and sounds TESTY. But hey, whatever,
   you “just feel sorry” for people. I retract my comment about you being testy;
in truth, you’re more of a grouch.

 * Upgrading from 2.0x to 2.07 is an easy upgrade.
Upgrading to 2.1 is not as easy.
 * I upgraded to 2.1, and I had some minor problems (which I solved). Also, it was
not a particularly straightforward upgrade like all the 2.0x series was. Not
difficult by any means, just slightly more involved.
 * So at the moment, I would recommend that anybody running 2.0x who isn’t a WordPress
geek hold off for a bit.
 * 2.1 is fine, it’s great, but it’s also not fully compatible with older 2.0x stuff.
Several plugins will be broken. Some themes won’t work properly. Until 2.1 has
been out there and used for a while, and the themes and plugins have been updated
to work with the new way of doing things in 2.1, there will be compatibility
   issues.
 * If you’re not willing to deal with those issues, don’t upgrade yet.

 * Xander, stop making personal remarks in the forum unless you want your posts
deleted! (and do NOT answer to this, just comply with the rules, please!)
