Support » Plugin: FileBird - WordPress Media Library Folders & File Manager » Upgrade to 4.0 lost old folders

  • I mistakenly upgraded to the latest version (4.0 from 2.8) of this plugin but when I went to view my media folders I had setup using the older version they were gone. I like the plugin a lot but the lack of a migration tool is bothersome. I skimmed the release notes but honestly didn’t read them in detail so if they warned me about this then my bad. Also, I’m using the free version right now so the plus is I’m less upset because I didn’t pay for this behavior 🙂

Move this to a 1-star review. When I create a folder, go into and out of Media files it disappears making this plugin useless. I tried twice with the same behavior. Deleting the plugin.

I lost the folders I defined in 2.8. They aren’t there. I have NO folder that I’ve defined after upgrading. Now I’m finding that I cannot even create a folder. I hope this description clarifies my issue.

Thank you for the help, it worked! Excellent response to my problem. I deleted the 4.0 plugin, uploaded the 2.8 version from your link and after activating it my old folders and their contents are back. Great work and I look forward to the new improvements. I’ve updated the rating. Hopefully you can figure out what’s wrong but if you need help let me know. I might even go Pro 🙂

BTW, it occurred to me that I couldn’t create a new folder in 4.0 because I was using the same folder name that I used in 2.8 and most likely hit a duplicate entry. Just thinking out loud.
