[resolved] Upgrade to 3.6 Has Broken Visual Editor (4 posts)

    Hi,

I read the comments here: http://wordpress.org/support/topic/36-upgrade-broken-visual-editor

And have looked through here: http://wordpress.org/support/topic/troubleshooting-wordpress-36-master-list?replies=5

But can't seem to find any fix. I tried re-installing 3.6, which didn't change anything.

Basically, when I go to Post New, the visual editor is just a blank box (no toolbar) and I can't click in the box to write anything.

Clicking on Text does seem to work, if I wanted to type out all my post as HTML code.

I didn't comment on the other posts, because the moderator told some other people to start their own thread, so that's what I'm doing. Hopefully that's the right thing?

Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.

Have you tried deactivating all plugins and switching to the twentytwelve theme?

    Hi,

Yeah - I've tried deactivating all the plugins. That didn't change anything.

I'm concerned about switching themes. We have over 500,000 pageviews a month... pretty active user base on the site at any given time (and the site provides part of my income). So... not sure how I could change it without really impacting our users.

I think I found the issue, by disabling plugins and clearing cache one-by-one. It was the plugin Root Relative URLs.

Big issue for me, as that's the single plugin I really can't live without, but at least I know what the problem is.

Realize that this probably isn't the time/place, but any idea how I might fix it? I need relative URLs because I have wordpress installed on an Amazon server at stage.shopp.ly. Then I have a script running on AWS that pushes content to cloudfront every 30 minutes on http://www.shopp.ly. If I didn't have relative URLs everything would point to the staging site.
