Support » Fixing WordPress » Upgrade to 3.5 created posts/pages for all revisions

  • This is odd. After upgrading to WordPress 3.5, I now see all my posts and pages AND their revisions. Really odd. Is this a bug or is anyone else experiencing similar?

  • Let me add to this. I just noticed that even though I have only 13 posts the posts area itself lists all posts, pages and revisions. 29 pages worth! I go to Posts–>Categories. Well, there’s a category with eight posts, let’s see them. Nope. Good luck trying to find them because we’re giving you 29 pages of everything instead! Seriously, how do I solve this?

This is very weird. Are you only seeing this in the admin or on the front end of your site?

Not sure if the site in question is the one linked to from your username but if it is try disabling W3 Total Cache and see if that fixes the problem.

No, that is not the site in question, this site is. I’m seeing it in both although on the homepage, you’d never know it because I’m running a script that only pulls in the most recent post from the Official News category and instead it’s just pulling what in this case is a page.

So it’s because of that, that I know it’s both from the admin side, and the user side. In almost eight years of WP development, I’ve never experienced anything quite like it.

OK, I think I just figured out the problem. It’s a plugin conflict with Advanced Category Excluder and possibly Advanced Category Excluder Widgets. Deactivated both and the problem seems to be gone. I just checked both Posts and Pages and they display appropriately. Very interesting. This is the third plugin I’ve now found that has a conflict with 3.5. The first, Magic Fields,,was corrected in an upgrade and the other, Widget Logic Visual, has a workaround but it hasn’t been updated by the authors.
