I have just updated a WP from 2.1.1 (I think) to 2.1.3 (I know)… from the sites CPANEL with a double click upgrade.

now if I go to http://www.rosslangdon.com I get an error line stating

Fatal error: Call to undefined function: wp() in /home/drewh/public_html/ross/wp-blog-header.php on line 14

As I haven’t ever done anything outside of the themes folder I am a bit at a loss as to what to do about this… could it be because this is a subdomain in another account and therefore inside the folder “ross”???

I have the cut and paste advice at the end of the upgrade on how to restore the old version but to be honest I’m not sure I am confident to do that – it is not my blog.

Is this an anomoly or is there an issue on the upgrade side that is happening to a number of people?

Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

  • If WP is in the root, why is it looking for it in the folder “ross”?

If WP is in a subfolder you would acces it here:
    http://www.rosslangdon.com/ross
The only thing there is a couple of flash files.

If in a subdomain, it would be
    http://ross.rosslangdon.com

So where are the WP files really?

ahh sorry its been a while since i looked at this… its in

    http://www.drewheath.com/ross

    which a subdomain of ross

    ross.drewheath.com

The subdomain (which is in the folder ross) has its own domain name of http://www.rosslangdon.com

So the files are inside a folder called ‘ross’ – and that is how it worked fine before the upgrade. It obviously finds the files such as wp-blog-header.php correctly but doesnt’ recognise the function wp() anymore.

The wp-blog-header.php page has not changed from the older versions…

thanks for the reply. Any advice?

    sorry
    to explain…

the flash files are actually in a folder inside ‘ross’ dumbfoundedly also named ‘ross’

    root
    – ross
    — wpfiles here
    — ross
    ——- flash files

I just noticed something in Fantasico inside CPANEL where I did the double click upgrade…

    it says…
    *********

    UPDATE NOW!
Following installations are not up-to-date. Keep your installations secure and up-to-date and ensure that future versions of Fantastico will be able to maintain your installations by updating now.

    WordPress
    Location Installed Version Upgrade Link
    rosslangdon.com/ Only manual upgrade possible
    **********

It doesn’t show an installed version and says only a manual upgrade is possible. This mean? Did it not work fully?

    Fantastico bites.
