I’m hosted at Bluehost and when I click on upgrade to 2.01 I get this:

    “Click on Upgrade only if
    – no files, languages, themes have been modified
    – you haven’t added mods to this installation of WordPress
Info: Your current installation will be backed up.”

I’ve added feeds and hit trackers to my theme’s sidebar templete, does this mean I shouldn’t updgrade until I put everything back to how it was?

Am new at this webhosting thing..thanks.

I don’t trust any automated upgraders. Some will do though.

have you checked this out? http://codex.wordpress.org/Upgrading_WordPress

I’d grab a backup of your theme folder, do the upgrade and then copy it back up to the /wp-content/themes folder.

Wouldn’t hurt to do a backup of the database while you’re at it. Just in case…

Handy..after I backup the theme folder should I leave it in during the upgrade..or do you suggest I leave it out during the updgrade then put it back in after it’s done?

    Good ideas all..thank you both
