# Upgrade problem

 * I just attempted to upgrade my WP installation; and ran into problems. When I
   looked at the files, they have little squares in them. Why? What can I do about
   it?

 * What files are you referring to? Your posts which are in the MySQL database table
   wp_posts, or the WordPress files (wp-atom.php is a file)?
 * What version are you updating from?

 * Do you have a backup of your database before the upgrade?
