• We are currently using PHP 5.3.8 version on our WP site running 3.3.2. I need to upgrade my PHP version to 5.3.9 or newer without PHPMyAdmin and CPanel, and the web site is hosted locally. Our sys admin guys don’t knw anything about PHP upgrades on the web server. Is there a way I can upgrade the version? (We can’t install PHPMyAdmin and CPanel) due to security reasons. Any help would be great. Thanks.

  • Sorry but this isn’t a WordPress specific issue.

    That actually terrifies me.

Thank you. I was just reading about it, and it looks complicating to even get it installed. Is there any other way?

There are a lot of ways to upgrade your version of PHP, yum update php is probably the easiest, I wouldn’t recommend doing it if you’re not sure what you’re doing.

Ipsetnu is right, your sysadmin should really know how to do this. Whatever you do, read what your going to update before you hit that Y to continue 🙂
