• Hi, just did an update using the auto-update button this morning.

Then I clicked the “Upgrade Network” button.

I noticed from upgrading other sites that it usually works from newest blog to oldest.

I get an error from the newest blog :

    Upgrade Network

    http://mysite.com/jefftest2

Warning! Problem updating http://mysite.com/jefftest2. Your server may not be able to connect to sites running on it. Error message: couldn’t connect to host

The server is behind a firewall, and I’m using a proxy server. I wonder if that could cause a problem ?

Can I run update.php from command line ? It does the database updates right? Is there another way to do this ?

    Thanks

I saw in another forum, that you could automatically update the database, per blog using a link like this :

    http://myblog.com/blogsite/wp-admin/upgrade.php

When I do a test, it seems to work. It changes the value of get_option( ‘db_version’ ) to a larger value. Then when I try again, it tells me that there are no updates required.

Is this a good method ? I have a multi-site instance, so if this a work-around I can do that.

Me too, After I move server and update V3.9 I cannot upgrade network. “Your server may not be able to connect to sites running on it. Error message: couldn’t connect to host”

    Any Idea.
