From the help files it says:
Upgrading from any previous WordPress to 2.7:

    – Delete your old WP files, saving ones you’ve modified.
    – Upload the new files.
    – Point your browser to /wp-admin/upgrade.php.

Well, I did this but I could only get to the front page. When I clicked login it did not ask me to update, but I got page not found.

I left my config.php in there, and figured I could replace the altered css files later since I’m just using the plain Kubrick.

Could it be that I changed the wrapper from wordpress to another word?
I used the correct word in the URL.

  • Is the config file any different in the new version from older versions?

Maybe I should have redone that and not used the older one.

But I have it working now, did it my way.

Went to the front page, and it asked me to update the database, clicked OK and voila, then updated to 2.7.1 in the control panel.
