I have “UpdraftPlus – Backup/Restore” Version 1.11.12 installed. I was offered the option to update it (to 1.11.15), clicked on it and now have the spinner and “Updating…” displayed all the time.

Attempting to load the web site in a browser (seemingly any link) just gives “The service is unavailable.”

This may be my own fault. I had clicked on “Details” to see what the upgrade comprised and the changelog only went up to v1.11.12 I have never had a WordPress plugin update not work before, so I thought I’d let it do it anyway. Was this version not genuine / not yet ready?

I see the changelog has now been changed to go up to 1.11.12 (which it did not when I applied the update).

Is it possible I only have a part-update to 1.11.15?

If use FTP to remove the plugin, will I be able to then log in? Will I lose all the settings and existing backups?

Hi,

The changelog pages at updraftplus.com and wordpress.org are subject to various levels of cacheing, so, they’re not necessarily showing the latest version as soon as the version is out. But, yes, 1.11.15 is the latest/current release.

Basically, yes, it’s fine to remove a plugin via FTP and re-install. Also relevant:

I resurrecting the site from an FTP backup, then was able to uninstall and reinstall the UpDraftPlus and now it is back up again.
