Upgrade from 1.01 to 1.2

  • I’ve searched and searched and have not been able to find direction for doing this. I ran the upgrade script, but that doesn’t do it, as most of you probably already know. Can somebody help me with this? Thanks a lot.

  • If you are referring to the 1.2 alpha versions floating around, then replacing all your 1.01 files with 1.2 alpha files and running upgrade.php should suffice. If it does not work, then it needs to, and the devs will fix it.

I suppose I’ll try that tonight. Thanks.

2fargon is correct as usual. I ran the upgrade on a 1.0.2 installation last week. My usual procedure is to rename the current installation directory [ie: /myblog to /myblog-1.0.2] then upload the new version and rename it [ie: /wordpress to /myblog]. Then just run /myblog/wp-admin/upgrade.php and you should be in great shape.
You’ll love the new features, that’s for sure! 1.2 is gonna be a great release.
