The latest stable is 1.5.2 Why not try to update to 1.2.2 first and then to 1.5.2? Your new WP 2.0 can NOT talk to the old database. That’s a different story. I really don’t understand all your questions. If you read all the posts above AND follow the links posted – you get all the information you need. There is nothing complicated, it’s a just bit of work.
