    Hi,

    I have had a few of my sites report by Wordfence that a file change has been detected in updraftplus/admin.php

    it was: if (file_exists($directory.'/.donotbackup')) return 0;

    and that line has now been deleted, a few other changes occurred as well.

    i didnt update, not recently anyway. is this normal?

    I got the same report, plus one that the backup.php file changed.

    It was:

    if (file_exists($fullpath.’/.donotbackup’)) {
    $updraftplus->log(“Skip directory (.donotbackup file found): $use_path_when_storing”);
    return true;
    }

    and now that is deleted.
    This is for version Updraftplus 1.9.17

    My Wordfence plugin also detected a changed file.

    The file was wp-content/plugins/updraftplus/backup.php

    The following code had been deleted from lines 1493 to 1496:

    1493 if (file_exists($fullpath.’/.donotbackup’)) {
    1494 $updraftplus->log(“Skip directory (.donotbackup file found): $use_path_when_storing”);
    1495 return true;
    1496 } }

    PLUS the following code had been removed from the end of line 424:
    , ‘updated updraftplus-disable-wp-cron-warning’

    PLUS the word
    private
    had been removed from the beginning of line 3142

    PLUS the following line 3188 has been deleted:
    if (file_exists($directory.’/.donotbackup’)) return 0;

    Like Julian Fox I’d like to know if this is normal, or something I should worry about?

    Hi guys,

    I am not a WordFence user, and cannot provide any insight into the meaning or intepretation of its messages. The best way to ask a question about why WordFence is doing or not doing something would be to seek support in its forum, here: http://wordpress.org/support/plugin/wordfence

    Best wishes,
    David

    Thanks David, I will go ahead and post in that support forum.

    I thought maybe Updraft itself performs an operation that would change the admin.php file and maybe some other files of inside its own directory.

    Im not really asking about WorFence, rather if Updraft does anything like modify its own files?

    Hi Julian,

    No, it doesn’t.

    Best wishes,
    David

    Thanks David,

    I hope its from updating the plugin.

    I’ll go to wordfence support as u suggested.

    Thanks again.
