# UpdraftPlus_S3::putObject AuthorizationHeaderMalformed

 * Hello,
 * i wanted to add the s3 compatible storage as a backup location to Updraft but
   i get the Error:
 *     ```wp-block-code
       S3-Compatible (Generic) Einstellungs Testergebnis: Fehler: Wir konnten den Bucket erfolgreich nutzen, aber der Versuch eine Datei in ihm zu erstellen schlug fehl. Bitte überprüfe deine Zugangsdaten. (UpdraftPlus_S3::putObject(): [AuthorizationHeaderMalformed] Authorization header malformed, unexpected scope: 20260317/us-east-1/s3/aws4_request)
       ```

 * As both of these issue i am using a different region name for my storage than
   us-east-1. I am selfhosting the s3 compatible storage solution garage [https://garagehq.deuxfleurs.fr/](https://garagehq.deuxfleurs.fr/)
   as minio is “dead”. As too many services now depend on my current bucketlocation(
   de-sa-03) i am not able to rename the location. Updraft is the only incompatible
   service using my s3 location. That’s why i am guessing that Updraft is somehow
   setting the region incorrectly? Maybe a optional location field is possible?
 * I am using WordPress 6.9.4 and Updraft 1.26.2 and Garage v2.2.0.
 * Is there any logs or further information i can provide to resolve this issue?

 * I thought your hosting was on Garage. Unfortunately you cannot use Garage the
   way you want it to.
 * You can find the s3 policies that UpdraftPlus uses for S3 in both the screenshot:
