    Hi,

I am running WP 4.8.5 running Twenty Seventeen theme.
    I have the following plugins:
    1. Askismet Anti-Spam 4.0
    2. Jetpack by wordpress.com version 5.4
    3. Updraftplus – Backup/Restore version 1.4.2
    4. WP Super Cache version 1.5.7.1

I successfully backed up to Dropbox, however, I received the following warning message:
“Warning: Dropbox did not return the expected response – check your log file for more details.” Here is a copy of the log file in pastebin:
    https://pastebin.com/embed_js/MNmu4BKB

My question is can I ignore this warning? If not what should I do about it? Please explain using simple steps.

    Cheers,

    Oz1973

    Hi,

Could you check if the backups are sent to your Dropbox?

I would suggest re-authenticating your Dropbox storage.

    Kind Regards,

    Hi Bryle,

Yes, these are the files and database that got sent to my Dropbox:
    …db.gz
    …others.zip
    …plugins.zip
    …themes.zip
    …uploads.zip

So it looks like, that something was backed-up successfully. However, is that all that should be backed up? I will re-authenticate the Dropbox storage and try to backup again and let you know the result.

    Cheers,

    Hi Bryle,

I re-authenticated Dropbox successfully with the following response from the server:
Success: you have authenticated your Dropbox account (though part of the returned information was not as expected – your mileage may vary)

Warning: Your website is hosted using the LiteSpeed web server. Please consult this FAQ if you have problems backing up.

I then proceeded with a new backup anyway. Which was successful (same files and database as before were deposited in my Dropbox storage) with the same warning as before. Here is the log file for the latest backup, in Pastebin:
    https://pastebin.com/embed_js/3wD1vEqd

Should I ignore the warnings? Or investigate the FAQ mentioned above which link is here?: https://updraftplus.com/faqs/i-am-having-trouble-backing-up-and-my-web-hosting-company-uses-the-litespeed-webserver/

Or do the remedies mentioned in the FAQ link have nothing to do with the problem?

    Thanks and cheers,

    Hi,

I updated WordPress to 4.9.2 and updated all of the plugins to their latest versions. I also updated Dropbox to its latest version 42.4.114 on my computer if that makes any difference. I also re-authenticated Dropbox in Updraftplus. Yet still, I have warnings when I back up to Dropbox.

The question remains should I ignore these warnings?

    Cheers,

    Hi,

Apologies for the delay. It appears that the forums buried this thread.

From the log, it does appear that the backups are being successfully uploaded to Dropbox.
The issue is that the ‘success’ reply from the server is not standard.

As such, the warnings can be ignored.
