 * I am trying to restore a large WooCommerce website onto a ZipWP staging environment
   using the free version of UpdraftPlus. The database, plugins, themes, must-use
   plugins and other files have restored successfully, but the issue is with the**
   Uploads** restore.
 * The uploads backup is split into **57 archive parts**, and all 57 parts have
   now been uploaded into:
 * `/wp-content/updraft/`
 * UpdraftPlus recognises the archive parts as **“File ready”**, and the restore
   begins unpacking. However, the restore fails during the copy stage with the error:
 * `Could not copy file`
 * The failed file changes each time I retry, so it does not seem to be one specific
   corrupt file. Examples of failed paths include:
 * `uploads/wpallimport`
 * `uploads/2024/01/default_1024X1024-1452-980x980.jpg`
 * `uploads/2025/09/Alex-Varga-Apparel-Catalogue25-FIN.pdf`
 * Can a large uploads backup like this be restored safely in batches, or does the
   full multi-archive set need to remain on the server during restore?

 * HI,
 * The most common reason for the “could not copy ” us that you are outof spce on
   your server.
 * UpdraftPlus backups and restores files in chunks: [https://teamupdraft.com/documentation/updraftplus/topics/backing-up/faqs/are-there-any-backup-limits/](https://teamupdraft.com/documentation/updraftplus/topics/backing-up/faqs/are-there-any-backup-limits/)
 * If you are positive you have enough space on your server, please check your file
   permissions using this guide: [https://www.malcare.com/blog/wordpress-file-permissions/](https://www.malcare.com/blog/wordpress-file-permissions/)
 * Alternatively, your hosting should be able to change file permissions for you.
