It is indeed. No problem and the same to you!

The issue is that the UpdraftPlus plugin is too big for WordPress to update in the background. (When de-activating Updraft it will update just fine). And since it’s an issue with their plugin there isn’t much I can do about it πŸ™

Oh sad to know this. Is the only one plugin unable to auto update. Thanks for the help and the information!

The UpdraftPlus plugin is 7 MB is this too big? Seems not very big…

This is what Updraft told me: “The most likely reason for a failure is lack of disk space or hosting resources; UpdraftPlus is larger than the average plugin because it carries a few SDKs for different remote storage methods, so, it takes WP longer than most to unzip it.”

I did a quick check but most plugins I’m using are <1MB and one or two bigger plugins are 3MB so seems like 7MB is quite big for a plugin.

I’ve honestly got no idea, this plugin uses default WordPress functions to update so I find it unlikely that there is any issue there. I hope the guys over at Updraft can help you and if they need me to do something to the plugin I’m happy to help πŸ™‚

Thank you, will be nice hear maybe some explain also from WordPress… if the issue is not in your plugin or in the other. Thanks for your great help πŸ™‚

So if I understand it correctly the line define('WP_CRON_LOCK_TIMEOUT', 300); fixed it?

    I made two changes:
    1. Discovered into the plugin there are a settings in advance settings to check for have the plugin to be auto updated so i don’t know if the plugin are using an api that create issue. In any case i enable this for all websites.

Also i added the string mentionated in wp-config.php

Maybe for test more i need remove the line from wp-config.php and see if the issue start to be again, if not is the check box on the plugin settings ( UpdraftPlus ) that need to be checked.

If you could try that and let me know I could maybe add that line to the plugin πŸ™‚

OK, the test is in progress… i should be able to say something in the next 48 hours
