It looks like server configuration issue. Please see:

    https://stackoverflow.com/questions/1846882/open-basedir-restriction-in-effect-file-is-not-within-the-allowed-paths

Can you also share your backup log with us to check?

This log can be found in the Existing Backups tab of the UpdraftPlus dashboard.
If you cannot access the UpdraftPlus dashboard, then you can find the log file in the ‘wp-content/updraft’ directory via FTP or your hosts’ file manager.

Please copy the contents in log file and paste it here: https://pastebin.com and share the link with us to check.

I stumbled upon this article that fixed that error
    https://support.plesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/214527685-WordPress-shows-500-Internal-Server-Error-on-Windows-open-basedir-restriction-in-effect-mo-is-not-within-the-allowed-path-s-

    Now I receive this error:
[05-Nov-2019 20:35:20 UTC] PHP Warning: file_exists(): open_basedir restriction in effect. File(C:\inetpub\VHosts\{my-wordpress-site}.com\wwwroot/wp-includes/theme-compat/C:\inetpub\VHosts\{my-wordpress-site}.com\wwwroot/wp-content/themes/vlog/404.php) is not within the allowed path(s): (C:/Inetpub/VHosts/{my-wordpress-site}.com\;C:\Windows\Temp\) in C:\inetpub\VHosts\{my-wordpress-site}.com\wwwroot\wp-includes\template.php on line 664

    Here is the pasted log
    https://pastebin.com/scmgZkZx

Any update on the error log I pasted? I discovered I have no backups since October 12th when the error first occurred.

    Sorry for the delay!

Could you send me a copy of your server’s PHP Error log?
You can find this log through your web hosting control panel (typically cPanel). If you are unsure where to find the PHP Error log, you can ask your hosts to provide it.

@opensideproject Please do not create duplicate topics for the same thing. I have archived your other two topics for this problem.

Work with the plugin support here in this topic.

I apologize I should have archived this one.

Can you unarchive the most recent one as I posted recent logs that I don’t have anymore.

Plus the information I shared above I found is not related to the problem so it’ll only send people reading this down a wrong rabbit hole wasting everybody’s time.

    Only moderators can do that.

No. You can add to this topic. But please do not post large code or responses like that here, it doesn’t work after ~10 lines or so.

If you need share that data please use https://pastebin.com/ instead and post the link to that paste.

The backup always stalls on this line:
3654.390 (9) Beginning creation of dump of plugins (split every: 25 MB)

Is this a stumper? Is it a bug?

I have 2 other WordPress sites on the same server running with the default configuration with less memory allocated and splitting the files at 400MG and succeeding every time it runs. This site was running fine too up until mid October. So UpDraftPlus backups have been failing for over a month.

Hello, I am moving to a new server on Thursday through Friday and need this backup to work.

All the other sites using UpdraftPlus work except this one, which used to and stopped.

Any ideas would be great, thank you!
