I use a GoDaddy Managed Press server and am unable to finish an UpdraftPlus backup for my website. At the end of the log there is a reference to a slimstat table (which I no longer use) and it says: “we hope your web hosting company gives you enough resources to dump out that table in the backup.”

It stops right there. I had no problems using Vault Press for backups using C Panel, but now I am having all sorts of problems doing backups. Vault Press failed. Then I tried Sucuri, but GoDaddy has not been helpful in making it work. Now I’m having trouble with UpDraft. Unlike Sucuri or Vault Press, it uses a plugin. So I think the issue is different, but I can’t figure out why a backup is so difficult.

I am able to download the files and database manually myself, but I’m unable to do so using a third party–now UpdraftPlus. GoDaddy provides 30-days of backups (without problems), but I want more and want them offsite somewhere and want to be able to schedule them.

Any ideas what’s going on here and what I should do? Is this a GoDaddy Managed WordPress problem?

Apparently I had this problem with UpDraft before. So I guess I have to just let it go. Thank you.

    Hi,

The reference to the slimstat table indicates that this table is very large. As such, UpdraftPlus was not able to process it with the resources available.

If you are no longer using Slim Stat, I would recommend contacting the developers for the best way to remove the data from your site.
Without the large table, the UpdraftPlus backup should run more efficiently.

    Hi,

Slimstat dev team here. If you’re not using Slim Stat anymore, and you don’t need to access the data it collected, you can simply drop all the wp_slim_* tables you see in your database.

    Best,
    Jason
