# Updating WordPress Troubles

 * I am trying to update my company’s WordPress to the latest version (because it’s
   extremely out of date), but every time I attempt it says “error connecting to
   server”. I have checked our Hostname, username, and password and they are all
   correct.
 * Any advice here? Thanks!

 * If the auto update does work on your server, try manually updating.

 * If you are updating online then there should not be connection issue. you can
   do manually update.

   check your hosting compatibility with the new WP version, it could be an issue
   as well.
