• I have a question about updating WordPress.
Installed a theme with child theme. After installation, using the Dashboard – pages, I created some pages and renamed others. But I saw that the modifications are done here: www.******.com/wp-admin/edit.php?post_type=project

So, when a new update of WordPress comes out, and I want to update it, automatically or manually, will I lose the pages I created and renamed others?
I´m asking because it seems that the modifications are done in the folder wp-admin, and when I update WordPress, the only file which isn´t updated is the wp-content folder.

Or are the modifications saved in the database and they have nothing to do with the files inside wp-admin?

    Thanks in advance.

  • Hello @karl-heinz-1,
You can just update your wordpress site leaving all your worries aside. It just modifies the wp-admin and wp-includes folders and other core files in root wordpress. The wp-content folder remains safe, your theme and plugins will not get any change.

Some modifications are saved in db also, but that would not affect your themes / plugins.

    Thanks!
