    Hello,

What is the best effective method to transfer new orders from a live site to a staging site before the staging site gets pushed to live. I want the new orders that are occurring while changes are being made to the staging site to show up when it gets pushed to live

    Any recommendations for a layman?

    Thanks in advance.

    Hi @cam5atl,

I’d recommend the WooCommerce Customer/Order/Coupon Export extension for this.

    I hope that helps!

    Thank you @sukafia

Yesterday, while I was waiting on a response, I ran accross this: https://docs.woocommerce.com/document/migrating-products-between-sites/

Does this method using WordPress still work effectively? I’m hoping not to purchase a plugin if possible.

    Any thoughts on this route?

    Thanks in advance

    Hi @cam5atl,

It’s been a while since the last post so you may have found a solution. I would not recommend using that to move orders. Orders store information in database tables other than posts and postmeta so that information would not be included in the WordPress export. The products, shipping and taxes would not be included for example.

I do understand the hesitancy of going with a paid product to help with the migration. There is a 30 day refund window so you can use and try these extensions out and then get a refund within 30 days.

Let us know if you have any questions.
