• The plugin does what it is supposed to do when it come to signing in users. But…

The problem for us is that the paid version of the plugin may not be automatically be updated using wp-cli. They have a special way (why not just support the default way of “wp plugin update …” ?) but the versions delivered using that upgrade was lacking the special way of upgrading, making them unable to upgrade again.

The support tried to help at first but the problem was never solved and they stopped returning my messages eventually.

Now we have stopped using this plugin and have migrated to another free plugin. It works well for what we need to do and it also works well with automated upgrades using wp-cli.

After some conversion starting 1 Sept 2024:
The support tried to be helpful during the start of the conversation… but the problem was never fixed in the released version.
… multiple emails including custom versions with sometimes working special upgrade one time, but never more then one time …

    13 Sept 2023: Support:
“… If you want, we can provide an updated 12.1.7 version with the support of the WP CLI update command so that you can update to the 12.1.8 version using WP-CLI itself. Please let us know if you would be interested.

13 Sept 2023: Me: Yes send me the corrected 12.1.7

18 Sept 2023: Support: “We will provide you with the latest plugin V12.1.7 as soon as possible which will have the wp saml update functionality added.”

    17 Nov 2023: Me:
“We have still not received any updated version, as you promised to send”,
“I tried the 12.2.1 from your Releases and Downloads-page to see if it would get updated to 12.2.2 using wp saml update but it did not work.”
Note: those were the latest releases at that time.

17 Nov 2023: Support “I would like to tell you that we have already released the support of the wp saml update command in the plugin version 12.1.8. …”
Still not sending any version of the plugin and not mentioning the fact that I tried your latest version.

There I gave up when you started talking about an older version and simply ignoring the fact that I tried your latest released versions.

I don’t know how you can call this “… rectify all the issues you mentioned …”

Also note that we specifically asked for this feature before buing the pruduct and you said they you had it.

I will not spend more time on this plugin as we have found a better and free alternative for our user case.

    Hi Erik,

We apologize for the confusion that the miscommunication has caused.

To clarify, the support of WP-CLI update had been released on our production since the version 12.1.8. As I understand, you were still facing issues with it in version 12.2.1, and hence we mentioned the following things in our email, that need to be checked for WP-CLI update to be working properly:
    – The plugin folder name is miniorange-saml-20-single-sign-on
    – You are logged into the plugin
    – You have entered a valid license key in the json file

We understand your decision to go ahead with a different plugin. However, if you’re willing to give us a chance, please let us know and we will make sure that everything it working as expected for your usecase.

    Thanks,
    miniOrange
