• Hi All,

Question for you….we received an e-mail from GoDaddy about updating our WordPress version. On my WordPress panel it says I have version 3.92 so I am thinking we are all set?

On the GoDaddy panel it says there is some patch available but I had tried to update through the GoDaddy panel once before and it made our site crash so I am kind of afraid to do it again.

Is it okay if we get all of our updates right from the WP admin panel?

    Thanks!!

    Allie

  • Personally, I always use the update from the WP Admin panel and have had (knock on wood 🙂 ) a 100% success rate 🙂

Take note… all update have to be done inside your self hosted wordpress dashboard. By doing this it save and prevent your website from crashing. I recommend you to backup your website content should in case these occur. Goto your hosting cpanel e.g http://www.yourdomain.com/cpanel log-in with your credentials. At the home page of your cpanel look for FILE TAB under it there are several icons, locate BACKUP or BACKUP WIZARD click on one of the two in other to take you to a download page, there you can backup your site content in general to your computer or sky drive, the choice is yours.

I hope you found this tips helpful?

    Thanks and enjoy wordpress script.

Your site can crash regardless of where you update it; and neither updating it through the dashboard or hosting provider’s control panel will guarantee this safety.
