# Updating theme without live changes?

 * I am planning on purchasing a new theme for my blog but want to get it just right
   before going live with it. How on earth do I do this?? I am not from a technical
   background but know a good bit having taught myself a lot with regard to my blog,
   I just don’t know how this is accomplished. Can anyone offer guidance?

 * Install XAMPP and work in it on your local computer. When you are done, upload
   the theme to your live site. See the following video for installing XAMPP and
   WordPress on your local machine.
