[Resolved] Updating site URL after mapping domain??

  • I am running a multi-site install with subdomain mapping.

I created a site on site1.mydomain.com and built it out completely (images, plug-ins, pages, ect..).

I mapped site1.mydomain.com to site1.com with site1.com as the primary domain – all is working great.

When I go to netwok — my sites — site1 — edit the domain is still being shown as site1.mydomain.com.

Is it safe to update the domain with the mapped url – site1.com?

I am having issues with SSL pages and re-direct loops and I believe it’s because WordPress is first directing from site1.mydomain.com to site1.com then on secure pages trying to run another re-direct to https://site1.com

I am afraid that by changing the domain url that it may through off my image paths, internal links, ect…

    Thanks in advance!

    John

    (PS Site URL = toetag.biz)

No, you shouldn’t do that. The point of the DM plugin is it runs the mapped domain without editing the site.

OK – thanks for clarifying that for me Ron!
