updating remote site with local

I prefer to develop locally on a MAMP server. However, after I’ve changes through the admin console, how do I reflect the changes to the live site? I’ve tried importing the database but I loose all my permalinks and when i try to log into the remote site it redirects me to my localhost 🙁
