 * An automated WordPress update has failed to complete – please attempt the update
   again now.
 * Is at the top of my site… It wont allow me to upgrade,
    What do I do?

 * honestly I’m a rookie at this!
    I dont know the first thing about the manuel 
   upgrade. 🙁 I have a mac computer and i know how to unzip the file after that
   I’m lost.

 * Okay so i just went through the HOW MANUALLY upgrade.
    Do I have to contact my
   host to see if they have my site has been backed up?

 * You can [backup the database](http://codex.wordpress.org/Backing_Up_Your_Database)
   and the [files](http://codex.wordpress.org/Backing_Up_Your_WordPress_Files) yourself.
   Once you have done that, carefully follow the [manual upgrade instructions](http://codex.wordpress.org/Upgrading_WordPress).
   Since you now have a backup, you can always restore from it if anything goes 
   wrong.
 * I recommend that you use [Cyberduck](http://cyberduck.ch/) for your FTP client.
