# Updating plugin group on Apache

 * When I update plugins I find that the group is listed as the same as the owner.
   In most cases this is not a huge problem however in some cases it’s necessary
   for the group to be ‘Apache’. Right now I have to manually change the group settings
   every time I update the plugin with the problem. How do I fix this.
 * P.S. someone set the wordpress site up for me so I’m a bit clueless on configuring
   it.

 * I don’t think the problem is with WordPress. I think it’s the way Apache is configured.
   You should contact your web host and tell them what the problem is. By changing
   the way PHP runs, they should be able to fix it.

 * As it happens my web host is a friend with a server. He was not sure why it was
   happening either. Any ideas where this setting might be?

   you don’t have subgroup[.](http://siriusblack.org/testosterone/) The problem 
   could also come from the theme who don’t show the other groups[.](http://siriusblack.org/tribulus-terrestris/)
   If I was you, I will look in the theme option and the group options before do

 * I use Apache via cPanel, and I haven’t used it as a standalone platform, but 
   I think the user/group will be dependent on what user PHP runs as. I think the
   default is the “apache” user and group, You should be able to find out how to
   set it on your particular server if you google something like, “run apache as
   different user” or “run apache as current user”.
