  • How did you end up having PHP on your local machine? 😀

Did you install the PHP software manually? Or did it come bundled with some local “server” software stack? Is it “Local” by FlyWheel (from LocalWP.com)?

I thought PHP is ‘built-in’ in WordPress and hence not matter where I have it installed I need to update it?. Isn;t this correct ?
    KIndly let me know
    Thanks
    Martin

WordPress does not come with PHP, it does run on PHP and some more dependencies:

To upgrade your local computer PHP – refer to your local web stack software documentation, or go to their site, check the docs and grab new version

Go to Sites and choose the website you want to modify the PHP version on to update the PHP version on your WordPress site. Next, select the Tools tab.
