• hi there,

i’d like to know why when i update or add a post, then all other pre-cached posts, including pages, need a new rebuild. when those pages have never been modified.

my blog is quite small, but if you have a big site, this is a bit annoying. i just updated to the most recent version 1.4.5

    many thanks

    anyone?? tnx

Exactly the same issue for me – major problem because re-caching every page takes a very long time!

Look for the setting “Clear all cache files when a post or page is published or updated” and see if it’s ticked.

not ticked – so another small bug for WP Super Cache…

I recall this issue back then when i had this plugin…the code fix was simple. Happy to dust off and recheck the file and post the code step fix here if the author continues to neglect it.

hello Kimberly – sorry to keep chasing, do you have the fix you were talking about? would be good to do it as there’s no update for this plugin about that.

    thanks

I’m having this same issue. I thought I was going crazy. Anyone ever find a solution?

I have the same problem. I found a thread a few years back with a workaround, and have used it with some recent updates, but I haven’t tried it with the most recent update (to WP and this plugin). The problem with this method is that that you have to modify the plugin code manually each time there is an update.
It fixes the issue with posts, but not pages, by the way. Updating pages will still clear the cache.
    Good luck.

It would be nice to get a permanent solution, though.

by the way, the code lines mentioned in the previous thread have since changed. I also recall I had to comment out something slightly different than what the comment with the code says.
Of course, make sure to save the original files before you modify anything so you can get back up if you break something.

    hi,

I have just seen a new update in WP Cache.. did that address the issue of Updating one post need whole cache rebuild again as well as the bug of having to disable Cache rebuild. Serve a supercache file to anonymous users while a new file is being generated. (Recommended)

    thanks,

Here is a related thread on the same topic:

In my case the issue is an apparent bug related to using a static home page. Are you also using a static home page? If so, you can easily toggle that setting on and off to verify if that is the cause of your problem as well.
