• Something very strange happened last night. I was updating my FAQ plug-in, adding 2 new questions, when the Update no longer updated. Meaning, I added the questions with answers, I could see them in the visual editor, but when I loaded the page, the new questions/answers weren’t there.

Thinking it was a problem with the plugin, I searched for a new plugin but the same thing happened. I’ve now tried probably 6 different plugins and none of them are showing my update.

Something that happened at the same time, perhaps related (?), the Preview Changes button doesn’t work. If I change my page content in the text editor (or visual editor) and click Preview Changes, the new window gives an error message saying, “You do not have permission to preview drafts.”

I’ve tried clearing my cache and cookies, quitting and restarting Firefox, and restarting the computer.

    Here’s the page in question:
    http://appliancerepairbybruce.com/faq/

Right now the page shows 1 FAQ, but it’s not clickable and there’s no answer.

If anyone can help me get this straightened out I would really appreciate it!

to rule out any conflict with your other plugins and theme, try:

    – deactivating ALL (yes all) plugins temporarily to see if this resolves the problem (plugin functions can interfere). If this works, re-activate them individually (one-by-one) to find the problematic plugin(s).
    – If you can’t get into your admin dashboard, try resetting the plugins folder by FTP. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems. Also remember to deactivate any plugins in the mu-plugins folder (if you have created such folder). The easiest way is to rename that folder to mu-plugins-old.
    – switching to the unedited default Twenty Fifteen theme for a moment using the WP dashboard to rule out any theme-specific issue (theme functions can interfere like plugins).

If you don’t have access to your admin area, use FTP or whatever file management application your host provides. Navigate to /wp-content/themes/ and switch to the default theme by renaming your current theme’s folder by adding “-old” to the end of the folder name. Alternately, you can remove other themes except the default theme. That will force your site to use it.

If you view the source of your page, you can still see that your Webpage is cached. I don’t think you’ve deactivated your caching plugin correctly. Most caching plugins require you to clear its cache using a setting in the dashboard before you deactivate it.
