    Hi.
Trying to add an image but I get an error message which is:
Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 41943040 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 2728 bytes) in /home/wppresch/public_html/wp-includes/media.php on line 1006
The image I'm trying to upload is less than 1mb and the maximum upload file size is 2mb. Any clues on what I'm doing wrong?
    Website is http://www.wppreschool.com.au

You're running our of memory for the processing of the image, not the uploading. They're two different things.

Image processing in PHP is a very memory-intensive process. It's very common to have a 1mb image file take up 16-20mb or memory when it's being processed. that's where the problem is in your system.

There's some more info about it here, and there's a lot of resources around as well, so have a read and see if something can work for you.
