Updating failed : PCLZIP_ERR_BAD_FORMAT (-10)

    Hello,

    I wanted to update jetpack to the latest version from 5.6.1 to 5.7 but I got this message saying that the archive could not be installed and this : PCLZIP_ERR_BAD_FORMAT (-10) : Unable to find End of Central Dir Record signature

    Since it could be from my wordpress memory, the limit is set to 128M and used a plugin to see how much is curently used before installing and it was showing like 95M out of 256M so doesn’t seem to be the reason… I did not add any plugins since the previous update so not sure what is wrong…

    Hey there,

    While “PCLZIP_ERR_BAD_FORMAT (-10) : Unable to find End of Central Dir Record signature” often does mean you’re out of memory, it can also mean you just got a corrupt download.

    How are you attempting to upgrade, via the Plugins menu in WP Admin? If so, would you try manually removing the Jetpack folder, then manually installing it?

    You can remove the folder via FTP or your cPanel File Manager in:

    …/wp-content/
    …../plugins/
    ……./jetpack <-Remove this

    Do do a manual install, you can follow these directions: https://codex.wordpress.org/Managing_Plugins under “Manual Plugin Installation”.

    Hello,

    It did worked by deleting the folder via ftp and uploaded the new files via ftp as well…. Hopefully it will works normally on next update…
