I’m not related to this plugin in any way, but would still like to comment here:
WordPress is a relatively stable environment. The way plugins interact with WordPress core normally doesn’t change much between various major versions of WordPress. As a rule-of-thumb, we usually say that if a plugin hasn’t been tested against the latest three version of WordPress (which roughly corresponds to one year), then a user may want to check a little bit extra before using the plugin.
WordPress 5.8 was just launched a couple of weeks ago. It would be very easy for the developer to just update the declared “Tested up to” to 5.8, but obviously this developer simply wants to gather some real feedback from usage first.
However, in this particular case, you may want to first read up on the changes around handling of WebP that were introduced in WordPress core: https://make.wordpress.org/core/2021/06/07/wordpress-5-8-adds-webp-support/
(And this change in core clearly means that the developer of this plugin may need to think a bit extra about what parts of their functionality, if any, would still be useful.)

Hi @tkick , plugin is fully functional on new WP 5.8 so you can use it, I just forget to change version on last update.
@tobifjellner , this plugin has nothing to do with WebP upload support, actually I think it’s still bad idea to upload WebP directly, because there are many Apple users with browsers that can not display these images, so you still need some fallback JPG or PNG, but maybe thanks to this pressure from WP it will change soon and even old MacOS and Safari versions will fully support it.
