Hey there,
I noticed that my page with the added gif is loading very slow. There seems to be some preloading going on? I thought that the reason you want such a player is that you don’t want gifs to load on preload. Or am I wrong?

Center is very likely the first new feature to come, but I can’t give any time estimates at this point.

How would I do that? Doing it via a css class would be the best way I guess? Or is align=”center” still valid?
Yes, you need to add a new class in your style.css file. I’m on my phone, so I can’t look up the class name for you, but it should be something like
.wp-gif-player {
}
