Hi, I updated to WordPress 4.5.3 and having similar issues, can’t see page text in edit screen, saying no SEO or keywords in Yoast, when I do update, the site isn’t taking it.

Having issues now with the edit screen on all pages, its not showing any content, word count at bottom is still there. If i click on the text tab and then back on visual, the text shows up. I was trying to update the content on a few pages, I am able to after I toggle between visual/text, after I hit update, the page goes back to blank and when I check the actual site, the updates aren’t happened, it says they are but nothing is changing… Any ideas?? I am lost for reasons this is happening.

My SEO plugin Yoast still shows no text on my pages. So I’ve checked our ranking for keywords and we aren’t showing at all for any keywords, as we were before.I use Wincher and it says we should be on the first page for a few keywords, but my site isn’t showing on any of google search pages. We were last week.

I’ve looked on other forum posts and cant see anything, no issues last week, so think its a 4.5.3 update issue and maybe our theme. Twenty 10

If you have any answers or suggestions would appreciate any help you can give, hair pulling may begin soon :0

An update to WordPress won’t itself remove your entire site from Google, the software has no control over Google’s index, that’s something Google itself would have had to of done, we really can’t help with that directly.

Let’s focus on “can’t see page text in edit screen.” Try deactivating all plugins. If that resolves the issue, reactivate each one individually until you find the cause.

If that does not resolve the issue, try switching to the Twenty Sixteen theme to rule-out a theme-specific issue (theme functions can interfere like plugins).

    Thanks James,

Assumed it was a plugin problem, but didn’t know if anyone else was having the same issues. I have uninstalled and installed all plugins, its Yoast that is causing the issue.

When I uninstall Yoast everything is working. I do like Yoast, I can go back to All in One SEO, I have been using Yoast for a few months now and have had no issues until the update was done.
Have not installed any other plugins in the last few weeks either.
I have deleted a few plugin I don’t use to see if there is any other conflict.

I would like to leave my theme for now, if I were to updated to twenty sixteen, the life preview seems to make a lot of changes to my templates and content.

No need to change the theme if you’ve identified Yoast SEO as the problem.

I recommend reporting the issue at https://wordpress.org/support/plugin/wordpress-seo so the plugin’s developers and support community can help you with this.
