  • It is always possible that Contact Form 7 didn’t install or update correctly on your site. It’s a general problem with WordPress updates due to the unreliability of internet connections.

Delete the renamed plugin folder (it’s normally wp-content/plugins/contact-form-7/) and install the plugin again.

Hi there, thanks for your response. I deleted the plugin folder from the hosting servers, and reinstalled it. Its still showing a blank page after inserting the short code there. Is it possible that I am doing something wrong with the shortcode or where I am putting it? The shortcode is [contact-form-7 id=”19″ title=”Contact form 1″]

Your CF7 short code looks fine.

It’s always possible that WP 3.8.1 didn’t install or update correctly on your site. In fact this is a more likely cause of your previous crashed site than any issue with CF7.

It could be that your problem with CF7 is just a symptom of some wider problems with your WP site.

Now would be a good time look at using the backup you created of your WP site (like all sensible WP users) before updating your site.

Thanks for the info. I couldn’t get it to work, and everything else seemed fine, so I switched to Fast Secure Contact Form which is working great so far. My site isn’t backed up that I know of- the person who was managing the site for us is no longer with us so I am having to scramble to learn WordPress. I really have no idea what I am doing, I’ll look in to how to back up the site, thanks. That’s an obvious thing that I’ve overlooked!
