# Updated a plugin

 * My captcha plugin needed updated so I did so and once I clicked on the button
   to do so the wp-admin section went blank. The live site is fine but when I try
   to access the admin section it just shows a blank page. Any help is greatly appreciated!

 * Try [resetting the plugins folder](http://codex.wordpress.org/FAQ_Troubleshooting#How_to_deactivate_all_plugins_when_not_able_to_access_the_administrative_menus.3F)
   by FTP or phpMyAdmin.
 * Why are you using an old copy of WordPress? Were you aware that your site is 
   currently running a very real risk of being hacked? You need to upgrade WordPress
   asap.

 * Had our site developed by a company and when it was launched it was in that version.
   They did a lot of “extras” and now it’s going to take a lot of get it to the 
   new version, at least so I’m told.

 * If you reset the plugins will that effect the settings they carry?
