My client has a website that was created using Coffee Cup. A secondary part of the site is her WordPress blog installed in a sub-directory. She is running version 2.85 and would like to update to 3.1.2.
I am unable to run automatic update and have tried a number of times to update manually without success. I am new fairly new to WordPress but have knowledge of HTML and CSS.
I thought if I was able to at least update her theme from Kubrick to 2010, I might be able to update, however I am unable to install the theme and get this message: Unable to locate WordPress Content directory (wp-content).
Currently all of her WP installation files are in the sub-directory.
There are no files in the root directory. Do I need to copy the WordPress core files to the root, or the entire installation? We do not want the blog to exist in the site root. Step by Step directions would be greatly appreciated!
