# Update wordpress failed

 * I’m trying to update my wordpress to 3.9.2 but it’s not working.
    I’m getting
   the following error:

 * Warning: touch() [function.touch]: Unable to create file /public/sites/www.daphneholthuizen.
   nl//public/tmp/wordpress-3.tmp because No such file or directory in /public/sites/
   www.daphneholthuizen.nl/wp-admin/includes/file.php on line 155
 * Warning: unlink(/public/sites/www.daphneholthuizen.nl//public/tmp/wordpress-3.
   tmp) [function.unlink]: No such file or directory in /public/sites/www.daphneholthuizen.
   nl/wp-admin/includes/file.php on line 479
    Download mislukt.: De doelmap voor
   het streamen van bestanden bestaat niet of is niet schrijfbaar.
 * Installatie is mislukt
    ___________________________________________
 * I tried changing my “upgrade” folder rights to 777 but that doesn’t work either.
   
   Hope someone can help me out!

 * try **MANUALLY** re-uploading all files and folders EXCEPT the wp-config.php 
   file and the /wp-content/ directory from a fresh download of WordPress. Make 
   sure that you delete the old copies of files & folder before uploading the new
   ones. Read the [Manual Update ](http://codex.wordpress.org/Updating_WordPress#Manual_Update)
   directions first!
    – running the upgrade manually via wp-admin/upgrade.php – **
   BTW, if you haven’t already done, always backup everything (including your database)
   before doing any actions, just in case something really goes wrong. It’s a great
   safety net.**
