    Hi;

    I’ve got a bit of a strange problem. The “Update woocommerce database” button gives a link error when pressed, but that’s not the real strange situation. Because I had that problem I used the button in the Tools tab and after a while got a message saying that the database was updated correctly, but the blue button doesn’t go away.

    I would just ignore that it it wasn’t for the fact that I can’t edit my checkout page. If I click on edit, the waiting icon just stays there for ever with no timeout or error. I thought that maybe it was the page, so I made a copy and I can edit that copy no problem. So I told Woocommerce to use the new copy instead and again the waiting icon just stayed for ever. Also if someone makes a purchase, the checkout page just flashes for about 3 seconds and goes away.

    All this leads me to believe that the database really has not updated or maybe I’m just having two parallel problems, don’t know.

    Note that the important problem for me is how the Checkout page behaves. The site selles downloadable products and most people expect to have the option to download them after payment and it’s the checkout page the one that controls this. Right now we tell them to use the email they get.

    Hi there 👋

    This kind of problem is usually caused by a conflict with your theme or with another plugin.
     
    The best way to determine this is to:

    • Temporarily switch your theme to Storefront
    • Disable all plugins except for WooCommerce
    • Repeat the action that is causing the problem

    If you’re not seeing the same problem after completing the conflict test, then you know the problem was with the plugins and/or theme you deactivated. To figure out which plugin is causing the problem, reactivate your other plugins one by one, testing after each, until you find the one causing conflict. You can find a more detailed explanation on how to do a conflict test here.

    Before you start

    1. First, please make sure you have a good backup in place of your full site and database. Most hosting companies have this included in the subscription, but you could also consider using a service like Jetpack. If something goes wrong, it’s nice to know that you can restore your site.
    2. Second, I would suggest installing a plugin called Health Check & Troubleshooting. This is a plugin developed by the WordPress community and it allows you to disable plugins without affecting your current site visitors.

    Hi Gabriel,

    Thanks for the detailed help. I did everything as said and the problem with the cart page was solved! This was the problems that had me worried.

    I still have the blue button asking me to update the database, but as long as the database is ok and it is as Woocommerce and the database are 5.1.0, I can live with the blue button no problem.
