    Hi Baden,

    Just a quick question. I updated my pro plugin today but I have not been able to find the changelog for a list of changes to the plugin. Does one exist somewhere?

    Before I madly hit update I caught a glimpse of something relating to speed and div tags and would like to know more about the changes.

    Cheers,

    David Trounce

    Hello Dave,

    From the Readme.txt file:

    * default tag is now div
    This means that if you do not assign a tag attribute in your shortcode, it will revert to the default value that has been set in the plugin options page. In past versions this has defaulted to span. Moving forward, the default value on new installs will be div. For those that are upgrading (such as yourself) this will not affect you, as the default tag was already set as span and will remain that way, unless you have changed it... regardless the settings in the page options will remain the same after an update.

    * scripts only load if shortcode is in use
    Rather than load the required JavaScript on every page if it is needed or not, we are now only loading the JS if the shortcode is actually being used.

    * script loaded in footer
    Loading scripts in the header adds to the overhead that must be loaded before the page content loads. We have decided to move the script to load AFTER the page content to not get in the way of faster page loads.

    * loading js and css now hooked to wp_enqueue_scripts rather than init
    Once upon a time, back before we had the wp_enqueue_script, we used the init hook for script enqueueing. Init was too soon and could affect performance, so now we have the wp_enqueue_scripts hook, and that's what we now use.

    * added Serbian language
    The title pretty much says it all.

    Baden,

    Thanks for yoru reply. Great decisions in my opinion. After reading this I went back and checked my page speed. I rely on your Collapse-Pro heavily on my site (its on every page, two or three times) and after upgrading the plugin my page speed improvd from 94% to 97% on Gmetrix.

    Thanks for delviery such a good reliable plugin for WordPress! Its plugins like this that keep me coming back for more.

    Kind Regards,

    David.

    You are very welcome--and glad to hear you are getting improved page speeds.
    Thank you for your kind words. Don't forget to vote for pedro! (if you have not already)
