I about had a heart attack, working on a site with half a dozen custom taxonomies and hundreds of terms, with the update they all disappeared! CPT UI showed now taxonomies to edit and my posts showed nothing but categories. Reverting to 8.5 brought things back, but this was not fun. Please let me know when you have this fixed.
    Thanks

  • Actually, it’s only running locally right now but I could upload it to a web host and send you the login info via email if you like.

    Hi there,

I just installed the newest update and am now getting an ‘Invalid Post Type’ error and none of my archives will display.
    Any help is greatly appreciated.

    Please advise.

    @hanseriksson,

How about we email me the values from these two wp_options table rows:

    cpt_custom_post_types
    cptui_post_types

The first one is the original saved value, so you can revert safely if necessary to the previous version.

The second one is the new option that 1.0.0 will create with what is hopefully well converted data.

Getting a copy of both will help me dissect what’s going on.

    TimTDG,

Sounds like something may be going on with the registration of yours. Could you send me the same values mentioned above that I requested from hanseriksson?

    @michael
I’ve sent you an email with the option values.
And again, many thanks for your hard work on this plugin.

    Easy.

Thanks you two. If you need to, feel free to revert back to 0.9.5 while I look things over.

    @ Michael,

No problem. Best way to do that is to uninstall then re-install old version right?

Correct. All of the original settings should fall back in place, with a possible need to refresh the permalinks.

Tim, I tested yours and it appears to have converted fine for my local install.

What I did was inject your 0.9.x copy of the settings into my database with the same option key, activated the 0.9.x copy, then I deactivated it, and activated a copy of 1.0.0 and refreshed the permalinks. I had no trouble getting to the post type lists or an editor to add a new post under each.

Not sure if I didn’t do something that you did. Can you see anything I may have missed?

hanseriksson I hate to do this to you, but could you try a different method of getting me the values? The email that was sent broke them into new lines at points, and it’s causing some issues making sure the counts on items is accurate.

If you use github at all, a gist would be fine, or perhaps a paste over at pastebin.com.

Some other quick notes, it seems like the new value saved is notably shorter than the original, which has me thinking there was maybe some sort of parse error in my attempt to convert the settings. Possibly due to things like the special characters. However, I’ll have a more assured answer after the first part is taken care of.

version 1.0 doesn’t work for me either.
but It was settled by myself.

    1. CPT UI> Add/Edit Taxonomies

    2. tab “Edit Taxonomies”

    3. “Select a taxonomy to edit.”

    4. Check the “post_type” ex)post/page/media

    5. “Edit Taxonomy”

    All taxonomies processed repeatedly.

The “post_type” check had came off by some cause.

Had a bad surprise this morning, but everything was settled after checking again the associated post types to each taxonomy.

    Thanks to @kokorog

    Great plugin anyway @michael Beckwith

    I second that!
