Support » Themes and Templates » Update to 3.0.5 killed the CSS

  • I updated to 3.0.5 this morning, and immediately afterwards the CSS went completely wonky on all the site’s pages. None of the images are displaying, the menus are in the wrong place, and the background seems to have completely diseappeared. I’d rather fix the issue than go back to an older version, but I’m not sure where to start. Any adive would be helpfull.

  • Your style sheet indicates that you might be using a modified version of the default wordpress theme, “twentyten”. You will have to restore your modified theme files from your last backup.

The default WordPress theme (twentyten) will always be overwritten during an upgrade.

    All right. Thanks!

Is there something I can do to get around that, though? I have other WP sites built on custom Themes, and they don’t have this problem.

Making your modifications by creating a Child Theme, or properly renaming the default theme should do it.
