    Hi there,

First time I used this plugin and I am almost ready with the new site.
Unfortunately the plugin just sent an update which made the whole site crash.
The administrative section works fine but the visible contents just show a blank page everywhere. I am sure it is the plugin because when I de-activated it everything works fine again…
Any feedback would be most welcome

    Anti-spam webvitaly
    bazz callback viktor levlev
    contact form 7
    cool tag cloud
    updraftplus
    woocommerce
    wps hide login

Same problem on my website. I just see a blank page after the update. I had to deactivate the plugin

Are you using some of the plugins mentioned? Then that option could be ruled out.

    Hey guys,

Sorry for the issue latest release has caused, it seems that when its used with certain shortcodes it causes an error 🙁

We have pulled back latest release until devs figure this out so please revert to 2.2.2.3 and we will hopefully see new patched release out soon.

    Best regards,
    Predrag

Predrag, thanks for your reply. How can I revert to the previous version?

Where can I find previous version?

    Hey there!

Latest version of the plugin currently is v.2.2.3, so you just have to re-download the plugin from here:
    https://wordpress.org/plugins/smartcrawl-seo/
or delete it from your website and re-install it from https://yourdomain.com/wp-admin/plugins.php

    Warm regards,
    Dimitris

ah ok, thanks. Did not realise 223 version is again available

If I reinstall it, do I lose all the data and settings?

Uninstalling the plugin from https://yourdomain.com/wp-admin/plugins.php will delete your settings.

If you want to preserve them, you should manually update the plugin via FTP (folder should be /wp-content/plugins/smartcrawl-seo/, just replace it in server with v.2.2.3) and most importantly while doing so, don’t visit https://yourdomain.com/wp-admin/plugins.php, but only after replacement is made.

    Warm regards,
    Dimitris

    Hi WPMU Dev,

I had the same problem as the previous users. This might be a small hint to what the problem is:

After Smart Crawl had been updated, following error message occured: “Fatal error: ob_start(): Cannot use output buffering in output buffering display handlers”. It seems that the update uses the function ob_start() in a way that encapsulates it with other ob_start() functions by other themes and plug-ins (which is not allowed in PHP) and this causes the site to crash. For example, we had incompatibilities with “Slider Revolution”.

We’re looking forward to your fix. Smart Crawl is an awesome plug-in – thank you! 🙂

Appreciate your kind words here @ad1ctive 🙂

You’re right, this is the fatal error that got latest version to be ditched out.
Our developers are already working on it, most probably the new updated version will be published pretty soon!

    Warm regards,
    Dimitris

    Problem fixed, thanks
